Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Launches Youth Internship Programme


Introduction

The Youth Internship Programme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is designed to provide young people with practical work experience, enhance their professional skills, and improve their employability. This initiative is part of broader youth development policies, including the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Policy 2016, aiming to engage youth in productive activities that contribute to the socio-economic growth of the region.

Programme Details

  1. Objective: The primary goal is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements, equipping youth with hands-on experience in various sectors.
  2. Placement Sectors: Interns will be placed in government departments, private companies, and NGOs across diverse sectors, including health, education, IT, agriculture, and public administration.
  3. Duration: The internships span 3 months, providing interns with meaningful experience without a long-term commitment.
  4. Financial Support: A stipend of Rs 25,000 will be provided to cover basic expenses during the internship period, making this opportunity accessible to a larger number of participants.
  5. Mentorship and Skill Development: Interns will receive mentorship from professionals in their field and access to skill development workshops, which are crucial for career guidance and personal growth.
  6. Job Placement Support: Upon completion, some programs offer job placement assistance or certifications that enhance employability.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 16 years of education or an equivalent HEC-recognized degree.
  • Domicile holders of Newly Merged Districts (NMDs).
  • Age limit of up to 29 years.
  • Applicants must apply/register on the KP-Internship Portal.
  • Final selection will be made by the “Internship Management Committee” in accordance with the KP-Internship Policy 2018.
