A ceremony marking the Seventh Tranche of loan disbursements under the “Ehsaas Naujawan Programme” which covered interest-free loans distribution to 177 beneficiaries across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in an initiative implemented by the Directorate of Youth Affairs KP in collaboration with its partner Akhuwat Foundation.

The event opened with welcome remarks from the Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa highlighting the provincial government’s commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs through accessible financial support.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, the founding chairman of Akhuwat, briefed participants on the organisation’s operational model and achievements. He noted that the programme had maintained a loan recovery rate of 99.9%, underscoring the sustainability of interest-free microfinance initiatives designed to support small-scale entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance.

The ceremony concluded with remarks by Dr. Nauman Mujahid, Director Youth Affairs, who emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts between public institutions and civil society organisations in expanding opportunities for young people across the province.

At the close of the event, loan cheques were formally distributed to selected applicants from Peshawar, marking the latest phase of the programme aimed at enabling youth to establish or expand small businesses through interest-free financial support
