New Events

Under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Malakand Mr. Fayaz Khan Sherpao and Director, Directorate of Youth Affairs Peshawar Mr. Abbas Khan Afridi the Malakand Athletics Championship 2026 was organized by theDistrict Youth Office Malakand in collaboration with the District Sports Office and District Administration Malakand on 17 July 2026 at Skhakot Stadium Malakand.

The championship aimed to promote sports, physical fitness, discipline and teamwork among youth while identifying grassroots talent and providing young athletes with opportunities to compete at the provincial and national levels.

More than 100 athletes from different tehsils of District Malakand participated in the championship with great enthusiasm. Competitions were held in nine events including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1600m races, shot put, discus throw, long jump and tug of war.

The participants appreciated the efforts of the organizers for arranging such a productive and well-managed sporting event emphasizing that such activities encourage youth to adopt healthy lifestyles and showcase their athletic potential.

The chief guest Mr. Sabz Ali Khan along with District Sports Officer Mr. Saeed Akhtar, President of the Malakand Athletics Association Mr. Amjad Khattak, District Youth Officer Malakand Mr. Shehzad Tariq and other distinguished guests and local dignitaries attended the event.

At the conclusion of the championship cash prizes, trophies and certificates were distributed among the winners and runners-up.
