Abstract Submission for Academic Conferences at District Swabi
The District Youth Office Swabi and District Administration Swabi, in collaboration with The Sustaining Humanity and Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, organized an educational seminar titled “Abstract Submission for Academic Conferences” for the students of University of Swabi At the Global Institute of Social Sciences Research (GISSR), and the Department of International Relations. The seminar aimed to equip postgraduate scholars and early-career researchers with the necessary skills for crafting abstracts for academic conferences. The seminar started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hasnain Ahmad. After recitation, Dr. Sajjad Ali Khan, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Department of International Relations, welcomed the guests through a welcome note. The Chief Organizer & Keynote Speaker, Dr. Ahmad Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, served as the chief organizer and delivered key-keynote speech as a guest speaker. This session focused on the critical elements of abstract writing, emphasizing clarity, conciseness, and alignment with conference themes. Dr. Abdul Shakoor, Associate Professor, Department of International Relations, Fatma Awan, Lecturer, Women University Swabi, Dr. Sameerul Khaliq Jan, Lecturer, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (BBU) Sheringal (representing GISSR), Dr. Hussain Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology and Dr. Jawwadullah, Lecturer, Department of International Relations, were the organizers of this seminar on behalf of their departments. Professor Dr. Zahir Shah, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, was the chief guest of this event. Dr. Syed Rashad Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, also joined the event and distributed shields and certificates on behalf of the chief guest. Participants engaged in hands-on exercises, drafting abstracts based on sample research topics. These sessions facilitated peer-to-peer feedback and allowed attendees to apply learned techniques in real-time. The seminar concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, acknowledging the contributions of speakers and the enthusiastic participation of attendees. Feedback collected indicated that participants found the seminar highly beneficial, gaining confidence in their ability to craft and submit abstracts for academic conferences. The collaborative effort between the District Youth Affairs Swabi, Sustaining the Humanity Organization, GISSR was instrumental in the seminar's success, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering academic excellence among emerging scholars.
