Public Awareness on Behavior Change for Combating Smog
Smog in Pakistan has been increasing in recent years due to Vehicular Emissions, Industrial Pollution, Burning of Crop Residue, and Deforestation. Serious efforts are vital in preparing the younger generation to tackle future challenges and excel in various areas of life. The office of District Youth Affairs, Mardan organized an event, *Public awareness on behavior change for combating smog* , in Collaboration with National Youth Assembly at Sarahad University of Sciences & Tachnology Mradan Campus.
Mr. Iqbal Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mardan, Dr. Aftab Alam, research fellow at LMU Munich, Mr. Mujahid Khan, National Youth Assembly and Mr. Imdad Ullah, Lecturer Environmental Sciences at AWKUM, delivered comprehensive talks. The speakers emphasized on the importance of adopting sustainable habits to reduce smog, its causes and impact on our environment and health, and the preventive measures to mitigate climate change. The participants learned how smog, one of the major contributors to climate change, exacerbates global warming and disrupts ecosystem. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the organizers and participants.
