Conference on Indigenous Languages, Literature, and Heritage, themed "Bridging the Past with the Future: Preserve, Revive, Celebrate," at District Karak

This hybrid multilingual conference, organized by the Center for Applied Studies and Research (CASR) in collaboration with Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak and District Youth Office, Karak will continue through April 22, 2025.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the Vice Chancellor of Khushal Khan Khattak University, Prof. Dr. Naseer Ud Din, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Vice Chancellor highlighted the critical importance of preserving and promoting indigenous languages, literature, and heritage in an increasingly globalized world. He emphasized the vital role of such academic gatherings in fostering dialogue, research, and collaborative efforts to safeguard these invaluable cultural assets for future generations.

Earlier in the program, Dr. Fasih Ur Rehman, Director of Academics and Research, warmly welcomed all the participants, including national and international scholars, researchers, and cultural enthusiasts. He underscored the significance of the conference theme in the context of the rich cultural tapestry of the region and beyond. He expressed his hope that the conference would serve as a platform for insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and the development of actionable strategies for the revitalization of indigenous heritage.

The conference features an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, including national luminaries such as Zubair Torwali Researcher, Writer, and Minority Language Activist, Dr. Muhammad Waqas Sajjad Director Research, Lok Virsa, Dr. Maria Isabel Maldonado-Garcia University of the Punjab, Mr. Muhammad Hamza Mirasi Playwright, Qissa Goh, Dr. Yasir Hussain Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Asmat Ullah Damaili ,Linguist, Author & Poet, Dr. Abdus Samad Kakahel Kohat University, Dr. Mirza Qasim Baba Guru Nanak University, Nankana Sahab, Dr. Amjad Saleem University of Peshawar, and Dr. Abdul Hakim, Linguist & Researcher.
